Emily Simonian is a musical theater composer whose work has received a California Culture Achievement Award. With grants from the Armenian Women’s Association, she is using Kits AI in her song-writing process for her upcoming musical When Two of Us Meet, which will receive a concert reading in New York City Spring 2025.

Emily’s upcoming musical, When Two of Us Meet, is a true story of a family's journey from Armenia to America during the throws of war. For the lead character, Avo, she chose the Male Strained Rock voice to sing his parts. “The voice just worked. He sounds really badass. This character is the father of 3 teenagers, very athletic and scrappy. He’s fighting for his life and his family’s life.”

Emily’s AI demos have left her actors happily surprised. “They sound really authentic.” She views AI as a way to empower real actors, not replace them. “These are just demos for the actors, a way to realize my vision. It’s helpful for them to hear the different character voices.”
With the concert reading for her musical on the horizon, Emily is happy to have found a way to bring her imagination into reality quicker than ever. “It saves me so much time and money. It’s really accelerated my whole process of taking the music off the page”
