A Word From Our Founders

A few weeks ago, we introduced Kits Earn: a way for vocalists to earn passive income by creating and sharing a digital clone of their voice. Today, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on Kits Earn and how it came to be.
Since our conception, Kits AI has been committed to working alongside and compensating creators. When we launched Kits over a year ago, we released three foundational pillars: voice training, a royalty-free voice library, and an artist-voice library that paid artists as their models were used, with a personal-use license for end users. This initiative was ahead of its time: prioritizing artist compensation and ethical AI before these concepts became widely recognized. But the original artist voice library had its challenges and shortcomings.
Over the past year, we've learned critical lessons from our two groups of users: producers who use voice models & vocalists who create them. Producers value three things above everything: high-quality outputs; a diverse selection of voice models; a royalty-free license over their voice conversions. As the benefits of AI voice technology within producer workflows become more and more evident, vocalists have become more comfortable sharing their voices so long as they retain control and are compensated. Our Kits Earn program embodies these insights, providing privacy controls like model access restrictions and opt-out options, as well as transparent compensation dashboards to ensure artists feel secure and valued.
From our community came these learnings, and from these learnings came Kits Earn. Kits would be nothing without the users who have supported us from the beginning.
We have always believed that AI voice technology should supplement, not replace, creators. Kits has already demonstrated the practical value of integrating AI voice technology within music workflows. Now, with Kits Earn, we hope to demonstrate fiscal value, enabling artists to generate passive income through their unique voices.
As we continue to make strides to improve the quality of AI voices, we invite you all to join us in building a large, diverse library. If you’re an artist interested in participating but unsure where to start, please read our documentation or reach out to us at outreach@kits.ai. Your voice could be the next great addition to our library, helping to shape the future of music creation and AI collaboration.
Thank you for being a part of this journey,
Evan, Kyle, and James
